Annual Health Check
An hour for your own health, once a year
A longer appointment set aside for the checks that are easy to postpone indefinitely: blood pressure, weight, screening blood work, and a proper conversation about sleep, stress, alcohol, smoking and family history. The point is to find the things that are silent, because high blood pressure, high sugar and high cholesterol cause no symptoms until they have already done damage. It is also the appointment with room for the question you have been meaning to ask for a year.
- Enough time for the questions you keep postponing
- Screening for the conditions that cause no symptoms until late
- Results reviewed with you, with a plan for anything found
- A baseline to compare against next year
What to expect
- 01
Before the visit
Screening bloods are usually taken a few days ahead so the results are ready to discuss.
- 02
The appointment
Examination, blood pressure, weight, and a full conversation about how you are actually living.
- 03
Plan
What the results mean, what needs acting on now, and what to keep an eye on.
Common questions
- I feel fine. Is there any point?
- That is exactly the point. Raised blood pressure, sugar and cholesterol cause no symptoms for years, and they are easiest to deal with in those years.
- How often should I have one?
- Once a year is right for most adults. More often if you are already being treated for something, which is then a review rather than a screening check.
- What if something is found?
- You will be told plainly what it means and what happens next, at the same appointment. Anything needing a specialist is referred with the results already done.
