Childhood schedule, adult boosters and travel vaccines
The clinic gives the routine childhood vaccinations, adult boosters such as tetanus, seasonal flu vaccination, and the vaccines needed before travel. Every dose is recorded on a card you keep and in your record here, so a missed dose is visible rather than forgotten. If a schedule has been interrupted, it can almost always be restarted from where it stopped rather than begun again. You will be told what each vaccine is for, what reactions are normal afterwards, and which ones are worth reporting.

Check what is due
Your record or card is reviewed so only what is actually needed is given.

Give and record
The dose is given, then logged on your card and in your file the same visit.

A short wait in the clinic afterwards, with advice on normal reactions and what to report.
Common questions
- We missed several doses. Do we start again?
- Almost never. Most schedules resume from where they stopped, however long the gap. Bring whatever record you have and we will work out what is still needed.
- How far ahead should travel vaccines be given?
- Come in four to six weeks before you fly where possible. Some vaccines need more than one dose, and some take time to take effect.
- What reactions are normal?
- A sore arm, mild fever or tiredness for a day or two is common. You will be told what is expected for the specific vaccine given, and what would be worth a call.
