Women's Health
Contraception, periods and menopause, discussed privately
A private consultation for contraception, period problems, menopause symptoms and routine screening. Every option is explained honestly, including the ones that are not on offer here, and a female doctor and chaperone are available on request for any examination. Anything that needs a gynaecologist, an ultrasound or a procedure beyond what a family practice should do is referred on, with the history and any results already gathered so the specialist visit is not spent starting again.
- A private appointment with time to talk before any examination
- Female doctor and chaperone available on request
- Contraceptive options explained honestly, including the trade-offs
- Referral to a gynaecologist with your results already in hand

Common questions
- Can I ask for a female doctor?
- Yes. Say so when you book and it will be arranged. A female chaperone is available for any examination regardless of who is seeing you.
- Do you do ultrasound scans here?
- No. Scans are arranged elsewhere and the report comes back to the doctor who ordered it, so it is explained to you here rather than handed over.
- Is what I say kept private?
- Yes. Your record is not shared with family members, and nothing is discussed with anyone who comes with you unless you ask for it.
